Reliance data card

I have been using this reliance data card for the last one week or so and I am now sure that I made the right decision.
The speeds I normally get with this data card is between 10 to 15kB/sec which is not bad for a wireless connection and beats A and V data cards hands on. The cost isint bad either as I didn't have to pay for the data card and just paid 12 months rental in advance and got the data card free of cost.
I have tried using this data card away from the city as well and it worked equally well in the middle of no where. I paid Rs9000 something for the complete year and don't have to worry about making monthly payments which is also a plus considering the hassle it is to pay bills in India as one has to go down to the shop to pay them with no option of doing it over the phone in most cases, don't know about reliance if they take payments over the phone or with direct debit.
I am now looking forward to the new bsnl data card which is supposed to have speeds in excess of 2mbps and will be launched sometime next year.

So six years later....

BSNL data card are of two different types. One works with GSM technology or 3G if you like to call it that and one is EVDO.

BSNL evdo is Rs750 per month prepaid and post paid both which comes with unlimited usage. You would get 1-1.5Mbps speed on it in real world. They say it is upto 3.1Mbps but I would be happy to get even half of that at the price.

BSNL 3G works out a lot costlier and the speed is higher too.
